DEAR BLOGOSPHERE,
This is (yet another) design blog.
Hopefully, eventually, someone besides me will read this. If not, at least it will give me an outlet and save everyone around me from having to listen to me obsess about interiors, fashion, and pretty paper goods.
Some introductions:
I AM a 23 year old graduate of a prestigious girl's school women's college with a degree in Art History. I'm not a professional designer of any sort and don't plan on being one. I'm working toward a museum career, but I'm currently head over heels in love with interior design and pretty fond of fashion and graphics, too. My boyfriend and I recently from New York to Boston, where there is a lot more greenery but a lot less overall fabulousness. I've been reading fashion and interior decor blogs for a couple of years, but have practically no real-life contact with people who care much about any of that, and I think my boyfriend is going to implode if he's forced to invent any more opinions about which of two throw pillows is better.
THIS BLOG IS / WILL BE (don't hold me to this):
• primarily interior decor, along with some fashion and other pretty things
• with some art history mixed in, because I like to geek out sometimes
• and with an emphasis on thrifty finds, DIY projects, and ways of recreating high-end looks, because I am, after all, 23 and practically broke.
Hey Alexandra,
ReplyDeleteI stumbled over here from the pink bathroom link you posted on AT this evening. Love your style! Hope to follow some more of your posts and your potentially updated kitchen.

Thanks so much! The kitchen will definitely take a while, sadly, but I'll hopefully be posting some pictures of a friend's apartment makeover soon!
ReplyDeleteHi. I saw your apt featured on copy cat chic! I loved the ikea bedroom side tables and wanted to do something like that for my nyc apt. Where did you get the gold pulls for the drawers?!
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Holly
Holly - the pulls are from Lee Valley tools (link below - the medium sized burnished bronze ones). I can't at all take credit for this idea; I first saw it here: http://aubreyandlindsay.blogspot.com/2009/09/side-table-project.html . I originally stained the frame a dark brown, as the instructions recommend, but then recently repainted it in high gloss black.

I just wanted to say that you are so talented. You have a style that I'm slowly working my apartment toward. It's a challenge because I don't have your design sense. I had your site book marked and when my PC died I lost all my favorite design bogs. I spent more time than I would like to admit trying to find them again.
